SPORTS DAY 2024

Tuesday's Sports Day was postponed due to poor weather, and was rescheduled for Thursday. The weather ws perfect for the event, which added to the experience.

This year’s Sports Day was thoroughly enjoyable due to the joyous atmosphere. The School encourages all students to participate in events. There are non-traditional events like the tug of war and 40m races to encourage participation.

Throughout the day, there were many, many competitive races which saw a couple of school records being broken. Some highlights of the day picked out by some of our year 10 students were.

Some highlights of the day were:

  • All 300m races were very competitive and a tough race to sprint 3/4 of the track is tough but all the competitors did well
  • Year 10 Girls relay - a very close race with yellow house narrowly beating orange house
  • Tug of war pitched each tutor group against each other in a knock-out competition
  • Sack race, a great one for the spectators. Athletes do their best to jump for 40m and resist the temptation to drop the back and run.

School Records Broken:

  • Y7 Boys 300m – Taziyah Armstrong – 51.91sec
  • Y9 Boys 4x 100m Relay – Blue House – 53.41 Sec
  • Y7 Boys Javelin – Enver Daci 24.70m [Beating a 30 year old record of 23.00m set in 1994 by Stefan Cooper].
