Singing Workshop
Heston's best singers will progress to join ISSP multi-school choir
Over 60 students from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 took part in a Singing Workshop as part of the Independent/State School Partnership (ISSP) in association with Eton College. The workshop was run by Slough Music Services and a professional singer coached the students who created musical harmony in a variety of entertaining and fun ways.
From this initial workshop a group of “shining stars” will be selected to take part in a whole day of singing fun to prepare for a concert where the best Heston students will rehearse and perform with students from other schools. Eventually, our handpicked students will sing with this large group to create an exciting a cappella Pop Performance.
Here are some comments from the students involved:
“It was really fun!” – Year 7
“It was fun to do a warm up using teachers’ comments in a funny but musical way.” – Year 9
“I enjoyed making silly sounds with my voice while singing at the same time.” – Year 9
