    Twelve-year nine students from Heston Community School took part in a Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) challenge. There were over 100 students from various London schools taking part in four different challenges.

  • Heston Dance Academy News

    17 girls from Year 7 and Year 8 took part in Dance West's Ignition Dance Festival on Saturday 03 June at The Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith. After being selected from over 60 applications and weeks of preparation, they performed a contemporary dance titled 'Lost in Sleep' which received high praise from the audience and festival organisers. HDA performed alongside other Youth Companies from Rambert, Arts Ed and Laban and had a fantastic day performing and watching other inspirational dances.

  • The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui

    On Wednesday 24th May the Year 10 GCSE Drama students attended a performance at the Donmar Warehouse of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui. The class enjoyed the production greatly. They were also very lucky to have had an acting workshop based on the play. This was delivered in school by the Donmar Warehouse earlier in the month.

  • Meningitis Mufti Day

    Pawaan Purba was a student here at Heston along with all her siblings.

    Pawaan would have celebrated her 21st Birthday this week, but sadly on August 27th 2016 Pawaan contracted Meningitis and past away very suddenly, leaving her family devastated.

  • Marathon Man

    On Sunday 23rd April 2017, Martin Hunt (pictured) ran the London Marathon with an impressive time of 4 hours 42 minutes. Martin wrote to us a while ago and asked if we could help with fundraising for his chosen charity, the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. His dad was part of the site team here at Heston for many years but was sadly diagnosed with lung cancer. Martin’s mum is also a member of staff at here. With the generosity of staff and students we were able to raise £775.15 through Mufti Day.

  • Year 12 students visit the Royal College of Anaesthetists – Student report

    We had a brilliant day at the college! We started the day off by arriving at the college and attending a lecture that introduced us to anaesthesia. Many anaesthetists across the country took parts in giving the lecture, they stated what their jobs were and talked thoroughly about their journey of how they specialised.

  • Year 9 - 12-hour STEM project

    Five year 9 students took part in a 12-hour STEM project to produce a model hydraulic arm. The students took this further by modifying their hydraulic arms with electromagnets to lift magnetic objects.
