Homework

Home Learning supports the development of essential skills for learning and prepares our students for employment. Developing independent study skills early will equip our students to cope with the rigours of public examinations and future professional careers.

Curriculum Areas determine the format and submission of the Home Learning tasks and activities. These are made available to students and Parent/Carers on Satchel:One.

 Year 7

Thirty minutes homework per week for every subject, with the exception of PE lessons. 

 Expectations: 45 minutes of homework per day

Year 8 

Thirty minutes homework per week for every subject, with the exception of PE lessons. 

Expectations: 45 minutes of homework per day

Year 9 

Forty minutes homework per week for every subject, with the exception of PE lessons. 

Expectations: 60 minutes of homework per day

Key Stage 4

Sixty minutes homework per week for every subject, with the exception of PE and RE lessons. 

Expectations:  60 - 90 minutes of homework per day

 Post 16

Subjects studied at Post 16 complete independent study and homework tasks, proportional to the amount of allocated curriculum time. 

Expectations: Five hours of homework per subject per week
